SEARCH FOR LONE BIRCH WINE IS EASY
This wine takes its name from a 75-year-old lone birch tree that stands in the Miller family vineyard at the corner of Bethany and Sheller Roads in Sunnyside, Washington. This Cabernet Sauvignon is handcrafted in a balanced and approachable style that showcases the quality of grapes from Washington State. Sourced from Lone Birch's 950-acre estate vineyard, the 2016 vintage was the largest in Washington wine history. The vintage is characterized by intense flavours showcasing darker fruits, ample tannins and balancing acidity. This is the classic Bordeaux blend of 80 % Cabernet Sauvignon, 12 % Merlot and 8 % Petit Verdot. Red garnet in colour, we are presented with a complex bouquet of black currant, marionberry and sweet pipe tobacco. It's already quite approachable with a full-bodied mouth feel and lingering tannins. Drink now through 2023. Approachable and food friendly, we would pair it with a hanger steak, your favourite steak sauce and a baked potato smothered in sour cream with lots of chives.
