Synergy means the sum of the parts is greater than the whole. This applies to wine too. Blending different grape varieties and parcels of wine has been done for ages and will result in a cuvée whose components, when combined, bring out their best. The Boeckel family is located, and has been engaged in viticulture, in the picturesque Alsatian town of Mittelbergheim for over 400 years. The local favourite white grape varieties of Sylvaner, Pinot Gris and Pinot Blanc give us a lemony freshness in the bouquet. On the palate we are presented with baked apple, citrus and yellow plum finishing with a dry freshness and pleasant earth tones. Anna Krebiehl, Master of Wine, writing for Wine Enthusiast Magazine, picked it as the BEST BUY in the May 2020 edition. A fresh onion tarte flambée would be the perfect pairing with this characterful cuvée.
