PINK LINK TO PLEASURE
With pale pink coloured wines all the rage these days, Germany’s Königschaffhausen Winery has been way out in front of the curve for many years. Its dry Pinot Noir Rosé from the Vulkanfelsen (Volcano Rock) vineyard has proven to be an Ontario favourite. While we were asked why the latest vintage hasn’t yet been released, there is a pink light at the end of the funnel.
It’s finally here via LCBO Vintages. Beautifully balanced, dry, with an enticing bouquet of dry rose petals, strawberry and raspberry, the finish is long and lingering. Sip on its own yet it’s great with sliced, smoked salmon, seafood salads or spring rolls, even if it’s fall.
